Nature Background

Your health happens between appointments.
Yarn helps you hold onto it.

01/03

Healthcare  is  built  around  isolated  moments,  while  life  happens  in  between.

So  much  can  change  between  visits,  yet  appointments  give  you  only  minutes  to  explain  what  matters.

Yarn  helps  you  capture  your  experience  over  time,  so  nothing  important  is  lost.

Nature Background

You're  not  imagining  it.
Appointments  can  feel  unfinished.

  • You  forget  evertything  that's  been  happening  day-to-day
  • You  replay  the  appointment  afterwards.
  • You  second-guess  yourself  and  wonder  if  you  made  sense.
  • You  remember  what  you  missed  on  the  journey  home.
"It's up to you to be as clear as you can be in an appointment, which can be challenging in itself."
Vicky GrandonNumerous chronic conditions
"When you get to see a doctor nowadays, it's such a special treat — they're really busy and you know you won't be able to come back immediately. You really want to get the most out of your appointment. "
DanChronic Ear Ache
"When you're in there and the doctor's talking, it's so hard to remember. What do you want to talk about?"
JanetChronic arthritis
"It doesn't feel like I'm always being coherent with Doctors. Sometimes I get emotional... I then struggle to articulate things."
SarahSecondary Auto-Immune Conditions
"I am mindful that sometimes after an appointment I think, oh damn, I didn't ask about X or Y. I'm so busy talking, I might not have noticed that I've missed something. "

What if appointments didn't rely on your memory?

That's why we made Yarn.

We're a team of five Design Engineers from Imperial College London. Several of us have navigated chronic conditions ourselves, so this isn't abstract for us.
